I read a post from Andy yesterday called Just post, which talked about how you don’t need to write a long, detailed blog post every time. You can instead pick low-hanging fruit or just something simple to build up momentum and start writing more detailed, longer posts once you’ve got that momentum going.
I wanted to add a tip to this, and it’s something I’ve been experimenting with: you don’t even need to type these posts, you can just use speech-to-text.
These tools have gotten so good these days, which means that you can basically get out out a blog post like this in one to two minutes from start to finish.
The above three paragraphs were all done with speech-to-text, and it probably took me about 30 seconds of speaking and another 30 seconds of proofreading. I’m using Aqua Voice, which was recommended by Justin from Buttondown, and I love it so far. It’s super accurate and super fast—I’ve been using it for LLM prompts, Bluesky posts, and anything that takes more writing than coding, basically.
Happy talking!
